KC2016 Cashmere Sponsor

Knit City wouldn’t be possible without the support from our amazing sponsors.

We will be featuring all of our sponsors here on the Knit City blog. Please take a moment to check these fine folks out!

In the spotlight this week is Ancient Arts, our Cashmere Sponsor.

Ancient Arts has been a longtime supporter of Knit City, both as a sponsor and a vendor, and we in turn are longtime fans of the beautifully dyed and high quality yarn they produce. We aren’t their only fans – their large booth is consistently packed at the show with folks who can’t get enough of their luminous and unique colour ways.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Caroline Somerfeld (the “Chief Yarn Officer” at AA, pictured above) and two of her lovely employees, the indomitable Barb Brown and Caroline Dick[not pictured above, that’s Amanda and I up there]) at our last retreat on Galiano Island. They dyed a special colourway for the the retreat, called Kelpie (pictured below). It’s one of the most stunning colourways I’ve ever seen and perfectly captures the colours and mood of Galiano.

Ancient Arts has an incredible way of capturing the spirit of something through their yarn, for example the beautiful colours of dogs and cats through their popular Meow and Woof Collections.

They also captured the essence of Vancouver, a city that is near and dear to our hearts, in the custom colourway they dyed especially for Knit City in 2014. Needless to say, this colourway (pictured below) sold out in record time. Luckily, it is available once again on their website and is one of their most popular colourways ever.

We are thrilled to have Ancient Arts back as a sponsor for Knit City 2016! Thank you for your support, Ancient Arts!
