We are so excited to finally reveal the custom colourways we have commissioned for Knit City 2013. We asked two of our favourite Canadian indie dyers to produce a colour that represented both Vancouver and our Knit City 2013 logo colours (turquoise and orange).
So here they are! First up is “My Other Orca is an Otter” created by Kim and Ron of Indigodragonfly. I truly wish we could have accurately captured the exact colour of this yarn in photos, but you really have to see this stunner in person to appreciate it fully. The turquoise blue is rich and nuanced, and absolutely gorgeous. This colourway is available in a Merino Nylon Sock base as well as a Superwash Worsted. There will be a new pattern designed by Jane Richmond for this yarn available for sale at Knit City as well. You won’t want to miss it!
Next up is the custom colourway created by Fiona Duthie of Kattikloo on Salt Spring Island. We feel that Fiona truly captured the essence of a rainy fall afternoon in Vancouver using grey with hints of rust and turquoise in her colourway. You could knit up an absolutely gorgeous pair of luxury socks using her Merino Cashmere Silk fingering base, or a cozy hat and cowl with her Organic Merino Light Worsted. We will have a new pattern designed by Tin Can Knits for this yarn available at Knit City.
Custom colourways will be available exclusively at Knit City 2013. Any remaining stock after that date will be for sale through our online shop.
So who’s excited?
