We have been wanting to blog about the amazing whirlwind that was Knit City 2013 for weeks, but we were so busy at the show that we weren’t able to take any pictures. Thankfully, Signy from Shine Photography volunteered to take some shots for us, and we’re really excited to share them with you.
We weren’t expecting a big line up at the door this year because we had changed our swag bag giveaway to draws on both Saturday and Sunday, but you knitters are an eager bunch and it happened anyway! Can we just say how much we love your enthusiasm?
After opening the Marketplace, the crowds just kept coming. We had more booths to shop at this year and our vendors really out-did themselves. There truly was something for everyone. Knit, spin, dye, weave, crochet, whatever your passion is, our vendors had you covered.
It’s so hard to capture the positive energy and excitement at Knit City. The Marketplace was buzzing all weekend as was the Sweet Fiber Knit & Spin area, where knitters gathered to share tips, talk about the amazing workshops they attended, compare purchases and relax. The free demonstrations and the awesome interactive BC Craft Council Fibre Art show were icing on the cake.
Knit City is special for many reasons, but one of the things that makes it extra amazing is the many, many knitters, crocheters and fibre lovers who volunteered at the show. Here are a few of them:
A huge thank you from both of us to our volunteer crew, especially to Joanne Banfield our volunteer coordinator. You are an essential part of Knit City and we appreciate you so much!
And thank you to all those who attended or participated at Knit City this year. It was an unbelievable weekend, and we can’t wait to see you all next year.
