We have some exciting ‘knit-in’ dates planned for the PNE Yarn Installation in August. Come join us at these fun, free events!
On Saturday, May 31st we will be at 88 Stitches in Langley from 6:30 – 9:30pm for a drop-in knitting event. The store has graciously offered a discount that evening on all yarn in stock. You are welcome to bring your own stash yarn to work with as well, and there will be some donated yarn to get you started with leaves or bunting etc.
On Saturday, June 7th, we will be at the Vancouver Public Library, Mount Pleasant Branch located at 1 Kingsway in Vancouver, from 10:00am to 1:30pm. We will be combining this knit-in with a Yarn Swap, so it’s sure to be a fun time. If you have already knit some pieces for the installation, you are welcome to drop them off at this time.
What’s a Yarn Swap, you ask?
Swaps are super fun for any level of knitter, whether you are looking to increase or decrease your stash. Bring unused, full skeins of yarn for trading or selling and peruse the ever popular free table for some sweet scores (or de-stash there!). You are welcome to trade needles and notions too.
Come by and check it out (come early for the good stuff!). Hope to see you there and don’t forget to bring your knitting for the PNE Yarn Installation!
The swap and knit-in will be held in the Multi-Purpose room.
We will also be dropping by the West Coast Knitters’ Guild on Tuesday June 3rd to chat and answer questions about the project, from 7-9pm at the Oakridge Seniors Centre, and have been invited to join the Knit2together Saturday at the Burnaby Public Library, Tommy Douglas Branch on Saturday June 14th from 11-2.
We hope to see you at any or all of these events!
